Today I did the longest ride I have ever done (24.6 miles). I went 12 something miles out and stopped at my favorite store (closest to my house) and there I met a touring cyclist from Germany. We chatted for awhile and I gave him some direction and local information. He was planning continuing on and we were going the same direction but he wanted to check out the local museum and such in the lumber town. (Scotia)
I went ahead of him and knew I was a couple of miles ahead at the begining. About 9 miles along (three miles from home) I stopped for a liquid release and as I was getting back on my bike here he comes trucking by. I smiled and waved as he did also, then I thought I would ride with him a bit.
Ha! I never was able to catch up even down hill on my bent Agio. He was carrying full panniers and just blew me away, he never even knew I was trying to catch up, he was gone.
Well I did do 24.6 miles today though. ;) All in all, a great day. :)
