hi anyone have any ideas on the original frame builder. just to add to the challege the paint job may have been shot blasted and resprayed, as paint job is peeling off. unfortunatly there are no indications of a badge or model.

the frame number is stamped on the bottom bracket AM53073

the seat tube is an unuasually large size at 24 3/4" (630mm), maybe a customised frame.

the frame is badged with reynolds ti 531.

bb measures 2 3/4" (70mm).

fitted with mafac centre pull brakes and a stronglite crank, also shimano 600 levers.

lugs have a heart shaped cutout.

the forks are 1" threaded and significantly have a lamp braze on on the right.

any ideas and suggestions to the origin most welcome.

while you have a number of images, no closeups of the seat stay-seat lug junction and no image of the side of the fork detailing the ends perplexes.

The frame has been repainted is my guess, so the Reynolds transfer is questionable without it in my hands. The BB shell is VERY basic, not comon at all with a small shop frame. fork has the light bracket, but it along with the top tube guides are an easy pre respray upgrade. Fork blades are later Continental oval, the fork crown also points later, if the fork does NOT have eyelets and if the blades terminate in a different style than the rear triangle... a replacement fork is suspected. The seat lug is also VERY plain at the post...does the seat lug have a matching cutout to the headlugs?

What is going for it is that it has Campagnolo rear dropouts, I doubt an upgrade, but it has been done. BB cable guides are missing...I did not recall if the chainstay cable stop was above or below the BB...

hose headlugs look buyout, I would not say they had a heart cutout. A 70mm BB width suggests Italian, which direction does the fixed cup unwind?
