what places carry shorts and jersey for us Big guys. I am new to this. I wear 44-46 pants so I cant find anything. Any sugestions?

Aerotech designs. I have a pair of their padded shorts that are both heavenly, and seemingly indestructible. I have about 1500-ish miles on mine over the past year, and a whole winter of spin classes to boot. The darn things are getting too big for me, but I'll be danged if I can find a tear.
I'll be definitely ordering another pair. Great products that are HIGHLY endorsed.
For "jerseys" I wear UnderArmor shirts. I tried a jersey and wasn't a huge fan of it, but UA is the goods. I have three UA shirts, one of which is two years (and countless workouts!) old! Great stuff, handles crashing well as well :D.

www.bicycleclothing.com also carries bigger sizes, but personally, I prefer aerotech a little more. Aerotech stuff is top notch quality and customer service is very good.

I was in Walmart about a week before my surgury to get some stuff for my wife and as I was walking by the men's dept I noticed they had some wicking shirts and shorts (not cycling) for about $10.00. I tried on some of the shirts just to guage sizes and the 3xl 54-56 fit me pretty good, so I got a couple to use when I take my short rides and didn't need pockets. I needed to do some yard work and I wore one to see how it would work with the sweat and it dd a real nice job moving it away and keeping me fairly cool ad dry. I went back today and got some of the shorts to use during my physical therapy.
Again these are not cycling shorts or jerseys, but if you are looking for some non pocket wicking shirts and non-lycr shorts for short distrance rides or basic workouts, and don't want to spend a lot of dough, I think this will work pretty good. They are definitly better than regular cotton shirts and shorts.

Pearl Izumi bib shorts in 2x fit me very well. As for jerseys, you probably want a 'club fit' rather than the narrower 'racing fit.' Again, a 2x fits me well, but I'm large-chested. (No jokes please.)

+1 to the pearls and +1 to bibbs
I have two pairs of high dollar shorts now and like them both over the aerotechs, but I'd get a pair or two of the aerotechs until your sure of your commitment before spending the money on the high dollar shorts.

i saw someone on ebay , that specialized in large sizes. he had like 2 for $50 and,i was leaning towards ordering.
i always wore regular shorts to ride. but now im thinking that pad couldnt hurt.

Cheap pads don't hurt, but they often don't help. Better shorts are worth the investment.

Was it Ebay user LOVE2PEDAL? I've ordered two pairs of Ascent 8-panel shorts from him and they're great. One warning: They bleed a bit in the first wash cycle or two (even in cold).

I bought a pair of HOSS Technical Gear Bike shorts this morning at Cumberland Transit http://cumberlandtransit.com/ in Nashville, TN. I could have used a pair of 2x but picked the 3x for extra comfort and they are great. I don't know where you are located, but bigger city bike shops should have a selection (albiet, a small selection) of larger items.

I have a pair of the AeroTech Top Shelf Shorts and not that crazy about them because they don't have a drawstring at the waist, which I prefer. Anybody know of good 3x shorts with drawstrings? Not into bibs. How about the Voler brand?
