Although I've ridden bikes since I was a kid, I never took it seriously. After not riding for, oh, something over ten years, I was invited to raise money and ride in the Tour de Cure (American Diabetes Association) - so I bought a bike (Bianchi Volpe), rode it over the course of a month, and rode in the Tour de Cure for Northern Vermont. Great! Then I was asked to ride in the MS Tour - and that was a two day afair. I chose the short rides, 40 miles the first day and 45 the second. I'd never, ever ridden a bike for those kind of distances - but I did it!

Then - I got a new bike :o (full carbon Orbea Onix with Ultegra) and am warming up for the MS Tour (August 11th and 12th).

Soooo . . . are there any other 50+ in Vermont who'd like to ride with someone for maybe as short as 20 miles and maybe as long as 50 miles? There are some great bike loops around the greater Burlington area, and also around New England and Northern New York. I'm no hot shot, just so you know.

Nice going on those rides! Vermont, like the Berkshires. nary a flat spot in it. Hope you like the new bike, and sorry I'm not in Vt.
