Mountain Biking - hitch rack on a car?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
ok this may be a dumb question but....
can I put a hitch rack on my honda accord? They don't have a hitch or anything like that, is that something that can be put on. It kinda sounds like there are people that complain about trunk racks, roof racks... but not alot of complaints about the hitch racks....

I just got one for my girlfriend's 99 accord. It is a class 1 Hidden Hitch. Direct bolt on. No drilling. You should be able to find similar ones in the states.

I had a 1 and 1/4 inch trailer hitch installed on my 2003 PT Cruiser and then bought a Yakima Big Horn bike rack. It can hold three bikes, but the people who installed both recommended I not carry more than two. I knew nothing about this stuff but I knew I didn't want to mess up the trunk of my new car with the ordinary rack I had before. It was actually someone I had met through another biking forum who recommended the trailer hitch. If you go to Yakima's web site, Yakima.com, and go to configure my rack,it will ask you for the type of car you have, etc. and will show you the models suitable for your car. Lorraine

I just got a hitch installed on my explorer at U-haul. I would think they might be able to throw something on the accord to accomodate hitch-mounted bike rack.
