Sometimes I enjoy peoples (lack of) sanity.

I got home from work, and rode over to our local coop, and while I was outside eating dinner, a friend of mine rode up all muddy. I asked where he had been going, and he mentioned some single track on the edge of town on public (town) land. It is located between a park and ride, the highway, and a water treatment plant, and there are quite a few means of access along this stretch of road.

So after I finish eating, I bike over to the park and ride, and ride back and forth once looking for signs of an "obvious" trail. I didn't find one, but I saw a few areas that MIGHT be it, so I rode down the ~10' section of grass that separated the tree line from the parking lot. As I pass the end, a gentlemen hops out of his Ford Taurus and starts berating me with questions. (Not to play the muscle card here, but I am 6'1", decently in shape, muscular and 240lbs. This guy was probably 50's, 5"6", and ~120lbs, slight beer belly, not a muscle on his bones...)

He begins asking me what I am looking for, who I want, what I dropped (ie.. not very logical questions, and he sounded VERY agitated) so I gave him single word responses, "nothing" and continued on slowly looking up the hill for the single track path. As I am about to get back on the road, he yells out "Hey maggot, what were you doing behind my car". The nerve of some people. I had a brief intelligent retort ("Perhaps you should return to your vehicle before the police get called for a drunk in the parking lot") to which he began spouting nonsense ("your parents did LSD, I can tell!", "You grease monkey punk, go back to work"). He then starts walking towards me like he wants to fight (as I am rolling towards the road)...

It was quite comical, I enjoyed it. I eventually did find the single track.. not superb biking, but for a simple, close to hole playground, it seems superb. It has a nice overlook of the highway.

You sure you weren't on his property or something? Weird encounter.. probably brain-damaged or on drugs.

By his choice of words, I would guess he wanted some action!
