Okay.. some of you may be somewhat familiar by now with some of my stories - some of you maybe not. Some of my stories seem (to me) to be rather unbelievable in some ways - and my explanation for this is that sometimes life is simply stranger than fiction. And this is another one of those stories - only this one is not at all of this world - this one is straight out of the twilight zone.
Currently I have been having difficulties between the two most important women (besides mum) in my life right now - my ex-gf, whom I've dated on and off for the past seven years, and my most recent girlfriend - who is of West Indian descent (from the Caribbean). Now I would like to preface this by saying I was begging for big problem by not seperating myself completely from the first person - before getting involved with someone else, -that I am to blame from anything that has come from this fiasco should be obvious. This story (hopefully the last one) is about how my ex came to know who I was dating (i.e. how she found out her FULL -first and last- name), and it was only last night that I came to discover the incredible reality of how this came about.
Now, to begin with my previous (most recent) gf is from an island in the caribbean - which is itself represented by a fairly large immigrant community in the city where I live. When I say 'large' I mean to say that there are A LOT of people from this island where I reside - probably more than in the capital city of this island itself. They are really one of the larger immigrant groups - (including asians and latinos). Furthermore, the city where I live is rather spread out - and this particular community is scattered as well (they don't all reside within a common district like the Italians or Irish or Chinese ppl are known to do).
Some time ago my ex-gf contacted some ppl that went to her school who also originated from the same country of origin as my other gf in order to collaberate with some of this woman's ''own ppl'' -who supposedly then helped her concieve some schemes to use against her (the subject of some of my previous threads). Unfortunately I had mentioned to my ex at some point in the past this woman's first name - which was really a fairly common name for a woman to have from her country of origin. Last week however it became known to me that my ex knew this woman by her first and last name (to my shock and horror) - and I immediately set about trying to figure out how she could have obtained this information. At first she was very reluctant to tell me at she repeatedly said that she ''pleaded the fifth'' - but I was very persistant in wanting to know how she could possibly have come to know her last name. Eventually she talked - but her story was one of shear implausibility bordering on outright impossibility and I became very irate that she thought so little of my intelligence to actually expect that I could believe such a far fetched explanation. My ex claimed that she had told her small circle of West Indian friends the *very* limited information and details that she knew about this woman (such as her 'approximate' age, her first name, her marital status, and that she worked the overnite shift), and that based on this, her friends were then able to pin-point this woman's identity because apparently she had a very notorious and infamous reputation within her community. Of course this explanation seemed absurd - and I countered that even 'if' this woman had such a well known and wide spread reputation - that it would be still impossible to know that it was her because all they had to go by was her first name and the few other general and very vague details. But she insisted on her story as being the truth, -no matter how much it contradicted common sense.
Then she agreed finally to call one of her West Indian ''friends'' and secretly placed me on 'three way' so that I could listen in on the conversation. My ex began to probe this woman by questioning whether or not they had given her the right person and told her repeatedly that she ''just was calling to confirm'' because ''some of the pieces didn't seem to fit'' - and that she just wanted to be sure of her identity. This woman on the other line insisted that this person was ''the right person'' and that ''all of the informtion given to her regarding this person was correct'' - and that ''she was sure of it.'' Then this person mentioned her by her full name  - and at this piont my jaw just dropped to the floor. She said that she knew what she knew and that it was up to her (my ex) whether she wanted to believe her or not - and that she was through trying to convince her about the ''facts.'' Then this woman started to get paraniod and said to my ex over the phone that 'something wasn't quite right' about this phone call and started to ask my ex if she was recording the phone call and things of that nature.. and she hung up.
I was just shocked and in disbelief. I still don't know want to think. There were no details mentioned by this lady during the phone conversation as to what exactly this woman's -(my most recent girl friends) reputation was, except that she referred to her repeatedly as a ''that f***ing b****'' - that ''she wasn't even worth still bothering over'' - and this woman seemed very annoyed if anything that my ex was still calling about her.
So how can this be? How could my ex-gf have found out so much about this woman - from some other ppl in this womans very expansive community, with only her first name and those few other vague details? It's like this woman must really have made a name for herself, - either that or there was just some incredible coincidences and the world is a very, very small place indeed.. Welcome to my life, where the unbelievable can happen on any given day - welcome to my life; the twilight zone.
