Foo - Websites for finding new music you like

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
For finding new music, ages ago, mp3.com was the tops, until they made the mistake with the Digital Locker, got sued into oblivion, then the site languished. C-Net bought the name, and are trying a decent effort, although it seems hard to find stuff other than your usual major label stuff.
Soundclick.com has some new and decent stuff here and there.
Oddly enough, one of the better sites I've found for finding new bands, is MTV's URGE music store.
Anyone have any others? Of course, there is Myspace, but browsing there seems to be like trudging through the intake port of a water treatment plant, looking for the rare gem of a band.

Anyone know of any sites where I can download sheet-music? I'm trying to find the soundtrack for "The Notebook" to play for a certain person on her Bday. :)

I refuse to consider using websites to explore music. I expect to use a favorite radio statons which present a variety of music and have knowledgeable dj's which do their job. Considering the nature of US media, that is a huge expectation. Thanks to some of the best stations doing web broadcasts, it's possible tho.

shoutcast. Free, no nagging and any MP3 player that doesn't suck works with it.
Pity they might go south now that the new royalty system is going into effect.

Same as the yahoo link I mentioned. However, to rate, you have to be a paying member (something like $30/year), but its recommended at least 20 artists that I've bought CDs from now.
After a while it is amazing how well it can get to know your tastes and feed you new and virtually unknown artists that you just LOVE.

^Type in artists you like into that site, and it will show other artists that most closely (or not so closely) resemble them.
http://amazon.com/
^Find the artists here, listen to the samples, decide if musicmap guessed right.

Yeah, this thread is bookmarked. I'm always on the hunt.
I love finding good remixes and stuff for dance/trance music. What I do now is just hit the P2P search engine with random words of DJs, remixes, parts of song names, whatever.
I'm amazed at some of the funky stuff I've found just doing that.
But I'll be keen to check out some of the other sites listed here, thanks all.

Fortunately I can get some college stations where I live, and public radio stations with some good programs, so I get exposed to new music that way. I just don't have the patience to download stuff I've never heard before and try it out (unless its a recommendation in a forum or something), with the exception of stuff I've never heard before by artists I've heard before. Ugh I am tired of typing "heard before", from now on its shorthand, "herd b4"
