Anyone know of any gold track hubs under $350? Really, less, but the only gold track hubs I've been able to find at all are Phil Wood gold track hubs and they're $394.95. I am not rich.

Anytone?

EAI was selling Gold Suzue hubs thru its various distributers. I think they have some left and im guessing shops that stocked them might too. I use the silver version on my training wheels. The only thing thats cheez with them is its the cheaper version of the Promax hub. The construction is very good but the hardware is total crap. Both axles are 3/8th size and the front is shaved to fit the fork. The threads mash really fast making wheel in and outs a pain in the arse. When I replaced my bearings last week I re threaded the bearing retainers to 10mm and used a new Dura-Ace axle and hardware. Works great now!

Must be some bike if you need gold hubs.

Velocity make an all gold track wheelset (gold Formula hubs, spokes, nipples and rims) if you want to go totally gold.

May not be the greatest wheelset for racing but will probably blind your opponents.

Whats wrong with those wheels? Velocity makes some of the best rims on the planet. A hub is only as good as the bearings it rolls on. If you put super nice smooth bearings in your hub, its just as fast as the next cartridge hub.

Loose ball hubs are the ones you can make stupid fast.

Suzue did a limited edition run of their Promax SB sealed track hubs in Gold. There were a bunch on ebay recently from Jones Bicycles.

Suzue also did their loose-bearing top-of-the-line hubs in gold, with a NJS stamp on the 36-hole ones. I believe there is still a pair or two at Bike Central in Portland, OR (www.bike-central.com). I'm not affiliated -- I just saw them there recently. Don't bother with the web site -- just call them.
