I do like Mountain Bikes the best overall... & would like to stick w/ that.
I've had a Schwinn & have a 2005 Hardrock Sport but I got it in XL in that & I think it's a bit big, so I may sell it & get a Large frame.

Several come to mind:
Trek 820, 3500, 3700,4300,4500
Giant Yukon, Boulder, Rincon
Specialized Hardrock, Rockhopper (about $520 though), HRXC,
Gary Fisher Tarpon, Advance,
These are a few that I ran across, but most importantly, ride all of the bikes in your price range first. Buy what fits. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Don't forget the Gary Fisher Wahoo and the Schwinn Mesa GSD or GS. The 4500 is about the same price as the Rockhopper though.

Not many responses. Use the search option. This issue has really been beat to death. You should be able to find more than enough info there. Good luck

What is XL comparable to? 22"? Do they have an XXL?
I'm considering a Hardrock sport so I'd like to know. I'm 6'6" so small bikes are painful. :D
