i've posted a few times about a trip i'm taking out west (we leave tomorrow...if we get our new car in time to get a hitch put on it today).

originally, i thought i'd bike yellowstone. now, i think i'll stick to shorter day-trips thru the tetons. i will probably have a back pack on me so i can stop and fish or take picks or otherwise enjoy the country.

i'm looking for any and all advice about road cycling the area. I've looked up the location of a couple of bike shops. they will be my first stops. i've looked up some rides on routeslip.com. i've looked into the cycling rules, etc. for the tetons.

what else do i need to look into, consider, etc.

anyone in the area know of any group rides? i'm a noob who rides in the flatlands....i'm not looking for any rides that are "advanced" [or even 'moderate' for that matter].

any advice and what to pack/bring?

One of the most fantastic drives I've ever done was from Jackson, through the Tetons park and through Yellowstone.

The only thing I can tell you is that the altitude is up there....about 6,5-7,000ft and virtually no towns to stop at.

Be prepared!
