Can anyone write peshmerga in arabic?

اﺷمﺮﺟا is as close as I can transliterate. There is no p in the Arabic Script, for example.

Nope, I just know how to research:p

I'm not 100% sure of how correct it is grammatically, but it is at least correct as I can make it phonetically.:D

Forgive me if I'm stupid about this, but Peshmerga is a Kurd term, so wouldn't it easily be something written in arabic?

Not necessarily, The Arabic language group has several variants from dissimilar ideas of interpretation of a common root, which was Phoenecian writing.

Turkish, for example is written in Roman Script and not Arabic.

You are right, by the way that peshmerga is a Kurdish term, used right now for the small militias.

They should, but I can't figure out how the p phonex is written out because there isn't a P character!:eek:

I just did the best I could.;)

Arabic script is VERY hard to translate to Roman and vice versa.

One question, how close did I get on the conversion within the limits of the phonexes possible?

By the way, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peshmerga gives the Kurdish use of the word.

Kurdish is written with both Latin and Arabic script, depending on the dialect/area.

Regarding the missing "P", as a comparison, count the instances of "F" in "phone". Yup, dat's wright, somme things aren't allweighs spelled the weigh they sound... :P
