Fifty Plus (50+) - Riding your age vs. Acting your age...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

How about riding the age that I act? Shouldn't take very much time at all.

I don't mind riding my age, but I do mind acting my age.
It is easier to ride your age on the bike than it is to act your age on the internet.

I rode my age plus ten today 64.52 miles, much easier to ride it than act it.

When riding a bike, you are allowed to act the average age of you and your bike. In some occasions, you are allowed to act the age of either yourself or your bike.

How about versus feeling your age?
"Feeling" as in:
1. Feeling like a nap after a long, hot ride, or
2. Feeling youthful, taking on new adventures, ideas, interests; refusing to conform to expectations for being inflexible, resistant, sedentary, etc.

Wait, I only did 34 miles today. I think that must mean, yes, it must mean that inside I am indeed only 34!
Next weekend I'm doing 102 on Saturday. I hope that doesn't mean what I fear it means.

Curtis obviously has a mental age of 34.
And when you do your 102, if you have a triple and do 34 on each chain ring, then you still get to be 34.
I'm 67. I could probably ride my age but then I wouldn't be acting my age.
I did 22 today, and that's how I feel on most days. Hmmm.... maybe I should just keep it at 22 for all my rides.

Oh we may "act" our age-- being somewhat forgetful, holding reading matter a little farther out, pharting more frequently and with less restraint and more amusement, etc.........but it's just an "act". Inside, we're throbbing with life and youth and explosive power. Rarrfff.
