longest continuous bike path in or around Omaha? west papio trail starting at Maple and going down to lake Zorinsky and looping back.

You can continue the ride on West Papio. it Branches to meet the now completed 144 bike trail which runs to the loop around Lake Wehrspahn, or up the slight hill to Atchley ford. The longest continous is probaley the Keystone or Big Papio + the Bellvue loop. Zorinsky path under 168 was flooded 06/15/08.

The longest Omaha Bicycle Trail ride would be starting at about 90th and Fort on the Keystone Trail heading South. It will join the Papio Trail, and go all the way around the South side of Offutt Air Force Base and end up at the Bellevue Bridge on the Missouri River. Turn around and come back the way you came.

I have ridden it from the 84th and Grover parking area (papio trail), to "Old Town" Bellevue and back. It was just over 40 miles. So from Fort on the Keystone, round trip, it should be about 50 miles. ALL on a nice recreational bike path with no traffic!

I ride the 144th St trail regularly, south of L St. It's ok, but you have to wait at the big intersections and really watch for traffic on the smaller ones! I just use it to get from my house to Wherspan Lake, Zorinsky Lake and the West Papio Trail.

I bought the Jamis Auroura, brifters and all and am loving it! Swapped out stock seat for a Brooks and the pedals for SPDs. Keep rolling!

hey Omaha Clyde's

If we ever do get together for a ride- instead of Lake Zorinsky, lets do Chalco Hills, Lake Wehrspan. it is much less crowded, still a good shelters, easy to reach off of Highway 80 and about 6-7 miles around by bike/ped path. Unlike the western bikepaths, there are no street crossings. Thought about coming up with a clever acronymn- but needed to get out and ride! Just a thought of course, my 2cents.

I know none of the trails in Omaha. But, I am going to get a day off of work next week and see what I can do about going up there and riding trails. I hate wasting gas money to ride safe trails, but better than the highway that I ride every day.
