Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Almost My Second Metric

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was so close to riding a second metric century today. But I began to run out of both daylight and energy, and finished with 60 miles. The route took me through the hill country of Kimberton, Phoenixville, Collegeville, Royersford, and Spring City, as well as along the crushed limestone Perkiomen Trail and paved Schuylkill River Trail. I rode the SRT all the way to Port Royal, back up to Audubon, and took the Audubon Loop and its 9 per cent grade to the Perkiomen Trail.
Even though I ran short at the end, I am pleased with the result. Not only did I ride a route that featured rolling hills for half its distance, I did it with loaded panniers!

Even if you had empty panniers and there were no rolling hills, 60 miles is still amazing. Good job. :)

Thank you. I missed other Neil, however. It would have been much more fun with him along.
Great job Neil. I am working on doing 50 miles tomorrow

Neil, I'm gonna say it's a metric as far as I'm concerned. the difference between 60 and 62 is nominal at best and I'm ruling here: Close enough!http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/j/judge.gif

Here here! I second that judgement!
Simply amazing, Neil. Your transformation on the bicycle has been downright inspiring.

I was gonna ride at least 50 tomorrow, but now that its 130 in the morning and I'm a lot drunk, I kinda doubt I will feel like it.
And great job on the 60, I haven't ridden over 30 since I was 17, 13 years ago. You are an inspiration, I hope I spelled that right. I can't tell.

I certainly won't argue with you or Tom. Tom because of his experience, and you because you are bigger than me. :-) Thank you both, and the other friends I have here on Bike Forums.

You spelled INSPIRATION correctly. As for riding, it seems to be a good way to clear the vapors from your head. Since I don't drink, I couldn't say for sure.

I don't drink often so I can't say for sure either, but you are still an inspiration for me, you have done so much on that bike of yours.
Great work! You have already surpassed my greatest day, and I've been at it for 17 months now.
