So I bought a pair of WTB Velociraptors. After hearing so many good things about them, I wanted a pair. Front tire goes on just fine. Rear tire is a different story. My rear shifter is on the 8th gear, so does that mean the chain goes on the smallest sprocket (very right) or biggest sprocket (very left).????

Smallest sprocket. Doesn't really make a difference if you're just putting on your wheel tho. Just put the chain on and after one rotation of the crank it should shift itself back to the right gear.

Yea it doesnt matter. But its easier to shift to the high gears and then take off the wheel. just a tup

this guy i ride with has that tire on the rear of his bike. he likes it aswell.. says its like being on rails.
I might have to give them a try, i have a set of motoraptors but have been eyeing the velociraptors. i was thining the velociraptors or the Pannaracer Fire XCpro, i have to get a new rear tire for sure due to a masive screw going in the rear tire.

heres a pic of it BTW...

My favs. I've been using them for years. I keep trying new tires, but keep going back to my Velo's for all around performance.

BTW, I'm trying out a pair of Motoraptor's on my single speed. I'll let you know what I think in about a month or so.

cool, i like the Motoraptor for the front but i would like more bite for the rear when it comes to traction. otherwise they grip fairly well, but what do i know i have only tried a few different tires.

I noticed on the package it says steel beaded instead of kevlar beaded. Which one is more durable? I know the steels weigh about 30 gram more each. Should I go back tomorrow and exchange them for the kevlars?

Nah, you're fine! The kevlars are lighter (you know that) and are foldable. Which means, if you want, you can fold the tire up really small!

That's pretty much it!

The weight is the biggie for a lot of people!

I actually prefer the steel bead.
