Interesting analysis illustrates how Linkin Park employs a
formula to maintain their chart success:

I've always liked LP a little, not a big fave in my book, but if they come up on the radio i don't change it. I've always thought they sounded a little commercialized, specifically marketed towards early to mid-teens. Notice all their cd's except M2M had no swearing? er at least no swearing on the ones that I've heard, i've heard 3 or 4 but i'm pretty sure they have a lot of remix cd's floating around. But hey, whatever works.

Their new stuff is absoluty horrible. I have NO idea what happened to them. About their music being geared towards early teens..... I am a case in point. First heard them when I was 12. loved them. begged my mother to buy me Hybrid Theory. Listened to it. LOVED IT. Begged for Meteora a few months later. got it. loved it. Now that i'm 17, I still enjoy them, but meh. I don't go out of my way to hear their music. but OMG!!!!! Minutes to Midnight needs to be destroyed. They now sound like just another punk rock band. What really drew me into the music was the "synthetic" stuff. the new stuff just doesn't have that mysterious sound riding in the background, waving to you, and then dissapearing in a flash, leaving you searching for it again. meh.
