Fifty Plus (50+) - What would a 50+ Forum jersey look like?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In the thread on the Nor Cal Jersey, Dchiefransom said it would look like this
http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=23095
But really, could there be one cool enough for us to wear?
Ideas?

And when you go to that velogear jersey page, the default selected jersey size is, of course, 3XL.

Man, don't laugh at these dudes....can you imagine how many blueberry pies these guys have totalled up on their Garmins (it does keep track of bike relevent info, right?)? If you're gonna age, as we all know, age with commitment, vigor, and an appetite for high stats.

Light colors with the words, "Old Crank" across the back. Under the words a print of a hand-drawn dis-articulated cottered crankset complete with chainrings that are missing teeth.
Alternately, "Aging Athlete: Ultimate Predator" over a picture of a scarred and crack-toothed tiger.
. . .Orrrrr. . .a jersey just like everyone else's.

Seriously: high viz, club cut, classic design (like forget the Primal Wear bizarro stuff), some dignity (none of that "Toothless Beer Gut Old Fart" stuff) cuz some of us ride fairly hard and take riding seriously even if we're not Serious Riders, and something a little humorous or wry but not self-deprecating-- because we do know our limitations even if we choose to disregard them at times.
In other words, something we can wear around the grandkids or go click-clacking into Starbuck's with.

The two Venti sized gentlemen above may be an eyeful but they're having a good time and, despite their ludicrous look, may well respect themselves. Hopefully they're self-aware but indifferent to their own appearance.

It would have to be large enough to cover the bibs!
If they are riding, you would think they would be in better shape.

you'll notice that I will make no derogatory statements about those two older but avid cyclist dudes.
I hope I am still able to ride when I am their age. They are probably comparing a "bent" that just went by to theirs.

Yes. I'm liking that. Maybe just a little self-deprecating.
TEAM EXPERIENCED, or something
Maybe just a very graphic 50 as if it's a jersey number

Ya know, it isn't impossible. If we get enough interest we could have a few made. The Northern Calif forum did. I think the minimum order is only 10. We could get sleeveless or normal. Lets see if we get any bites.
Design can be considered in flux, improvements from suggestions are possible.

Highlights are gray.
Yellow is for visibility, (or to match toe nails.)

All of you roadies, concerned about visibility.
One nice thing about riding trails is that you can wear any color you like.

Red Rider and I are in but we want sleeveless race cut. Red would prefer a womens cut. Don't need the extra material.

OK. Here's a rough plan:
I'm leaving Tuesday for th eweekend Seattle to Portland ride and will be gone a week.
When I return I'll doo the following:
1. See how many takers there are here
2. Post a new thread with a proper title and such, noting who wants whatr and how many
3. Talk to the folks who didi the Nor Cal jersey and find out how the heck they managed to collect $, distribute teh jerseys and stuff, figure out how I don't get hosed while making sure buyers are happy and feeling good.
I'll be checking back here today, Monday most of the day.
Some answers:
Racer cut is for, well, 0% body fat racers. Club is a bike jersey, bot floppy, but less skin tight.
There are sleevless or regular in race, club or womens cuts
Price is somewhere around $50 (I'll get actual numbers)
Still looking for suggestions for improvments.
I'm interested, depending on price and design.

I'm in. We did this a year ago on the Road Bike forum (I think?). Got a pretty nice BikeForums.Net jersey in yellow and blue (same colors as you've noted) with full-zip front. I think it was ~60. I'll guess that there were 12-24 people in on it. The initiator had a PayPal account, so we used that.

Dulcius ex asperis = "through difficulty, sweetness"
Cur etiam hic es= "why are you still here?"
I'm leaning toward #1, but I'm open to suggestions.

I also prefer "dulcius ex asperis", but here's another "On monte a velo por manger" (we ride to eat).
Would be nice to get a traditional "Allez" or "Allons y" on there somewhere, too.
[Maybe the Declaration of Independence, as well.....just kiddin']

Do they come in long-sleeve, for the melanin-challenged? :o
