Foo - universal bike symbol

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I've been thinking about this for the last week while I've been working, wanna find a symbol to use for some "art", I just want people's suggestions on something that they would consider to be a symbol of cycling, it can be personally made, or just something they like, that they've seen.
Just something that to them says "cycling".

:( You ok, I hope?
A chainring is a pretty univesal bike symbol to me
I was thinking more like something I could use as skin art. Or do you guys think a tat would ruin my boyishly sechiness?
Something like this.

I have one in mind. But my camera broke so I couldn't take a pic of it. I'll be bumping this thread in a few months next time I go to Holland to take a picture of it. :D

Jon, you need a tatoo about as much as a Lincoln Town Car needs a luggage rack.

I was thinking more like something I could use as skin art.I think the image on the left of the late-1800s woman on the bike would make a neat tattoo. I don't know where, though.
Maybe the end of a crankarm with a pedal on the end coming out of each shoulderblade, like people do with angel wings?

 You're hilarious. Now go put on your wool jersey and get on that.... *sigh*... old paramount and go for a ride while we talk about new age things, like tattoos.
In all honestly I had something in mind like the monthly art that comes out on jenson. Something gnarly.

Of course this is just an idea right now, not like I'm 100% for sure going to do it. Just want it to be something that represents me and means something
....maybe I should just have them color my back hot pink.
:( You ok, I hope?
Yes, thanks for asking.
I was pulling away from a stop sign and looking for oncoming traffic when my wheel got stuck.
Luckily both pedals unclipped and I landed on my feet.
Picked the bike up, checked it over and carried on my 30 mile ride.
Funny thing is almost the exact same thing happened today. :)

You know, I'm semi-seriously considering getting something like that. Is that tacky? Am I trash now?

Something like a simple but abstractish drawing of a bike that had yin-yang symbols for wheels would be cool. If I had photoshop skills, I'd give a shot, but I don't.

Have been playing around for years of putting on another tattoo - either tribal or bike related.
Googled some bike tats and found this, I rather like it!

I can't BELIEVE I want to get a tattoo now. I'm such a tramp!
http://a4.vox.com/6a00c2251d27098fdb00c225254684604a-320piThat will be so passé once radial-spoked wheels go out of style. :p
Stick with the tried and true (haw haw haw punny!), go 36-spoke three-cross!

Maybe if I can successfully complete my attempted transformation into the athletic type (see sig) I will reward myself with something similar. I've gotta have a reward, 'cause I mean, self-improvement for its own sake is so not my style. :p

whoa, twilight zone, get out of my head!
You could always go with a tramp stamp on your lower back Jon. I think that would be pretty fitting. ;)
Either that, or something like this.

Okay. That's it. My decision is leaning more and more towards a definite yes now. Yeesh, I never woulda thunk it.
I will, however, have to wait until the montage provides some fruits for my labour. No point getting a tat and then watching it warp from shrinkage :D

Or is it just me that thinks how unfair it is that in movies it only takes them 4 minutes to get into fightin' shape, and they get a cool soundtrack, besides? ("Risin' up, straight to the top...")
http://www.girlpower.gov/girlarea/images/sports/bicycling.gif
If I did that as a tat, it would be small and like inside my ass crack where no one could see it.
I tried making a design for a tattoo...something like this...
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a284/Taerom/bio.jpg
Biohazard symbol with a chainring/cog...maybe someone else could do a better job of drawing it. If I were to get a tattoo of it, I would put it right on the back of my right calf.

Just how big is your ass?
Pretty big, ask Siu. She can never seem to get out of it's downwind path.

Yeah tell me about it. Sux dunnit?
But I do have a cool soundtrack. Well, I have a great stack of awesome energy dance music, and one which I have taken as my anthem for this, ahem, 4-minute workout

South Park.
Think Rocky, Karate Kid, Kickboxer (crikey that was a bad one), that sort of stuff.

Seconded B Diddy - Team America: World Police. Great movie, awesome montage scene
"... gonna do a MONTAGE!"
I think my favourite must have been the one in Rocky IV. Ruskie dork with his fancy pants machines and Rocky the hard nut lifting stones and wrestling trees and eating mountains and *****. Kick ass.
This song sums it up nicely... http://youtube/watch?v=FVbMG_skOQk (the last song in that compilation)

Youtube has The Rocky montage...it was on the side next to the Karate Kid one posted above. I felt inspired to go jog through snowy creeks and buy an empty barn to workout in.
Luckily, cooler heads (my nine-year-old) prevailed.
Trivia: Did you know the lead singer from the band that did Eye of the Tiger is the same guy who sings on the Bud Light Real Men of Genius ads? "We salute you, Foam #1 Finger Maker..."
