Hi - I am riding next month in the Pan Mass Challenge and welcome encouragement and, of course, sponsors. I have ridden three times in the past, but I've had a five year hiatus in-between. So, five years older and a couple of pounds heavier...

I've set up a website at http://www.obrien-pmc.com. You're welcome to drop by.

The two-day, 200 mile Pan-Massachusetts Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. The centerpiece of the PMC's fundraising effort is an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Committed cyclists and volunteers as well as corporate sponsors and individual contributors are essential to the PMC meeting its goals.

Since its founding in 1980, the PMC has been successful in mobilizing increased support from all these constituencies. We strive to inspire even more proponents of our cause in order to raise more money and afford Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.

the PMC is arguably the most successful in terms of the money raised and the percentage of funds it contributes directly to charity. In 2006, 99 percent of all funds raised by PMC riders went directly to the Jimmy Fund. Only one cent of each dollar raised through riders’ sweat and determination was used for administrative and organizational expenses.
