Inflicting Paris Hilton on someone is about as mean spirited as I get.

I'm pretty sure comments like that are ban worthy. Yup.......checked the book, that justifies a permanent ban and a kick to the growing!!!!

Spec racing sucks.

More importantly, Alan, Dindo, Marco, and Emanuele all LOST. :(

(At least I knew Kimi was a dude, though. :p)

+1 for Raikkonen.

Hamilton is doing wonderfull things, and im not really a Fernado fan, but deep down im a Ferrari guy!

Kimi now leads with number of total wins.

OK, since no one's deigned to answer, I think I've managed to piece together the answer to my (serious) question: Kimi's a race car driver (F1s) and he (who would've guessed?) won an F1 event and is now the points leader in their series.

Well... that wasn't so hard.

Too bad I still don't give a rat's behind.

Kimi is a guy, yes. He races for Ferrari's F1 team. He replaced Michael Schumacher. He is not leading the points, but has the most wins, and you do give a rat's behind. ;)

skiahh,

Sorry, I didn't see your question or thought it was asked with a tongue firmly in cheek.

Kimi Raikkonen is a very talented young driver who always seemed to be on the verge of winning last year only to have the car he was driving fail, often in spectacular fashion.

This year he switched to Ferrari, which has had very reliable cars for the past few years. So far he has had one DNF because of an electrical problem at the Sapnish GP, meaning he scored no points at all. While I am in no way a racing expert, I thought he could easily take over for the retiring Michael Schumacher but he has struggled quite a bit, and of course there is the young ,extremely talented, Lewis Hamilton to contend with.

And the reason you should give a rat's behind? Well only two things are rocket science; building rockets and Formula 1 racing. Think of a 1300 lb car with around 900 horsepower. This year the engines are limited to 19,000 RPM, and have to last two races. Cornering and braking can be up around 4 G's. Their ability to change direction is absolutely incredible. If you have never watched a F-1 race, I highly recommend it.

Next year, no traction control.

Yeah, I know. Way TMI.

That was FOX's last F1 broadcast for the year. The rest will be on Speed.

Too bad.

Watching the F1 races on FOX-HD was brilliant!

Back to low-def. So sad. :(

FOX did a nice job but I really like all the additional stuff that is shown on Speed. A friend records the race for us so I've never seen it in HD, but Ill bet it's great.

As a cameraman I'm amazed at the ability of ther ops to follow focus the way they do. It really shows up in the slo-motion bits. Don't think my eyes were ever that good.

Oh well. Kimi won. Kimi won. Kimi won.

I've always been a Ferrari fan, but Michael Schumacher managed to help me overcome that. Now that he's gone I can like Ferrari again. Last year I was a Mclaren fan, but this year I'm a little down on them. Alonso is OK, but Hamilton, while a great talent, seems to have adopted Michael Schumacher's driving tactics. Oh, and this week there's a scandal over McLaren stealing secrets from Ferrari.

+1 Met him once- he was rather an ass. I chocked it up to me being a nobody fabricator in a sports car series and him being a **** hot F1 champion, but that was a couple of weeks before he sucker punched Coulthard in Belgium, and I spent several years disliking Ferrari. May be a while before I'd take Ferrari over McLaren again.

I have only recently begun to watch F-1 and wasn't aware of much of the tacky stuff Michael did over the years. Sad to see the image of such a talented driver stained with unsportsmanlike behavior.

As for Michael being a jerk; having worked in tv for twenty years, I can comfortably say that when people are treated like their poop doesn't stink, they begin to believe it.

It seems to me that he did take the sport to a whole new level, and it may be a long time before we see another seven time champion.

But your are right. He is a crashing bore in the interview room. I like to call him Mumbles.

Could be because kimi's always been battling schumacher in the ferrari thinking that part of schumacher's magic was the ferrari. And when he finally stepped into the cockpit of the ferrari, he might've been a little disillusioned to realize that it actually was schumacher.

slvoid,

Probably right about Kimi being disillusioned when he finally got into a Ferrarri. I'm pretty sure that Ferarri uses a longer wheelbase than the other car makers, in addition to the many other differences in design philisophy.

FatGuy Racer,

He doesn't exactly dazzle with the interviews, but on the other hand I lived in Texas for two years and only learned to say 'que pasa', so I'm impressed when anybody can learn another language.
