I can. I'm bigger than Ron. I could beat him up and take his jersey, but there's no point as it wouldn't fit. OTOH I probably couldn't beat up anyone with a jersey big enough to fit me, but the principle still stands.
Oh, really? What if Ron has a black belt? I can guarantee you that if you try to take his jersey, he'll pull a can of whoopass out on you. The better way to get the jersey, Dan, is to simply earn it. :D

Ron, perhaps I can sometimes 'borrow' your jersey when I go out for coffee? :p

That's crazy talk. The jerseys show up on eBay too. No need to resort to extreme solutions.

Oh black belt? Yea, I have one ... something's gotta hold my pants up. lol

The jersey looks great!
You know . . . you can make that jersey look better with Thousand Mile Club on it! Just two more doubles this year! Or five (or 5+) next year.
Then you can get the arm warmers, the jacket, the yellow jersey, the socks, the shorts, the coffee mug . . . the list goes on and on!
All kinds of great CAL Triple Crown fun!

Yea, I know. If my body feels like going through more punishment, I'll do Knoxville, and if I survive that, I might as well complete the thousand miles with Solvang. But the Knoxville is a very big IF

Knoxville is a lovely ride! It's my favorite double, in fact. I've done it for the last four years in a row and it's just a great double. Definitely one of the best, if not The Best. So do it.
Just sign up for it and do it. The Knoxville Grade is the worst part (probably why they named it that), but even the Super Steep parts on the Knoxville Grade don't last too long (plus Eric is always there taking photos!).
And the Quacks are the best support folks out there! The food is great, the course is great, the people are great. Do it, you'll like it!
Unfortunately I have a work commitment (Interbike) that will keep me off the Knoxville course this year, but I will be back in 2008!

Maybe I'll have Eric push me up, unless someone else here can push me up the hill ... ME? JP? Dante?

Not me, it conflicts with the Moonlight Century. I thought about doing Mt Tam, but it's such a far drive for me.

It's funny, too, I'm at four and I'm sorta not interested in doing the fifth. I probably will, though, but my interests have been shifting since the GT.
Outside of Mt Tam, which I'm pretty much not going to do, I'll probably do Bass Lake. I no longer have any interest in Solvang.

More for you than me ... but if I can complete Knoxville, it will have me prepared for Solvang Autumn. Knoxville worries me though ... I know it's Rick's favorite, but he's more experienced than doubles than I am.
Ron, the jersey looks good! Welcome to the club.

Wow, the socks! Yes! The socks make the whole ride worth it. I wore my Quack socks on the club ride last weekend, and you know, I was able to climb so much better with those Quack socks on! Oh, and note to ME . . . the ducks on the socks are adoreable, so you should do Knoxville too!
I know, I should have a photo of the Quack socks, but I don't. So I'll wear them on the next BF ride I do.
Then everyone can see how they are :). Plus, the day after the Knoxville Double, they have the awards breakfast for all you new Triple Crown Winners, including the Hall of Fame (50+ doubles) and the 100+ (doubles) awards (not to mention, but I will . . . the great things to eat for breakfast!).
So yeah, go do Knoxville! You'll love it! You will come back from Knoxville and post something like: "You know, Rick, you were right! Knoxville rocks! What a great double!" . . . and similar superlatives. I'm sure of it!

Don't forget to volunteer for at least one ride so that you get into the 1000 mile gold star club. That way it truly rocks!!!
BTW: The jersey looks great.
Oh, and for others thinking about doing 3 or 5 doubles... the 1000 mile club only comes in blue, so you might want to think about picking up the yellow jersey for the 3....
dope jersey man!! i want one but I cant force myself to do another double again...I did one once and it wasn't fun for me. Just not my ride style, I could do it but I'll grin and hate myself afterwords

And, there is a white "Thousand Mile Gold Club" jersey . . . even though I don't really like the white jersey design, though you can list all the doubles you've ridden on there too.
I've asked Chuck Bramwell about a Thousand Mile Gold Club jersey in one of the other formats, but it doesn't look likely to happen.
Rick / OCRR
PS: The yellow Triple Crown jersey coordinates well with the Quack socks!

Yeah, it is good to know. Although, I haven't decided blue or yellow for triple crown. I like the blue better, so I may just get blue and blue - assuming I finish my 5th double and get in the 1,000 mile club.

No frequent mile riders club. There should be one. Get beyond a certain amount of mileage, and you get discounts (like frequent flyer miles). If they did, you'd be saving sooooooo much on cycling gear.

Or you could just join a team/club.
