Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Could i do this? just a 4 mile jog or something along the lines
Sure why not? Although if you've never done it you should start with 2 miles or less. :)

i've done it quite a bit before, i just really don't want to waste this recovery day and be sore and tired tomorrow for when i get back in the saddle
if you're having a day off the bike, have a real day off.
Clean your bike, get a massage, eat lots, go to bed early.
jogging ain't for bike racers.....unless you're Jonno Hall or similar freak of nature.

Jogging on recovery days?If in fact you really want to recover, and if in fact you really do stress yourself when cycling, then don't run of rest days. If you're just a w*nker, then do what ever you want.

Why not go for an easy run. A liile cross training never hurt I'm sure. Go for a swim too. After a while a triathlon might be something to do for fun.
A monster groundpounding run would, I think defeat the pupose of a recovery day.

Great idea!! I mix it up with running one day per week, swimming another, and lifting weights on at least two other days. That makes my rides more focused and keeps my fitness more rounded. You are much less prone to injury with cross training, I think.
