I’ll play along. My real name is Garry. I have done a couple of So Cal BF rides and met a few people that post here. Would like to do more BF organized rides, but with family, racing and other commitments my weekends fill up pretty quick.

We could do it, but commentary from the peanut gallery is a key ingredient of the SoCal BikeForums experience. At least for now I think it should stay, but if people really want the thread pruned to only the pics, it can be done.

Anyway, attached are a few of the most memorable pics from my favorite group riding experience of all time (sorry, M.E. and Joy, even more memorable than Goodbye GMR). One of me riding along Mesa Grande's rollers, one of 1955 climbing Palomar, one of all eight riders and one of our SAG vehicles. I have no clue who took those pictures. Sure wasn't me.

Here's the REAL picture from the Mt. Palomar ride, someone is trying to play a horrible trick on me.

This is an actual photo from my memory.

Garry - so nice to put a face and name to your handle! Great pics and your little ones are so cute! :)

Vance - OMG! You look amazing, dude. You took 10 years off - great job! Now, all we need is for Dorothy to jump on a bike (and not because she needs to lose weight or to look younger - but because she'd be a great female addition to So Cal!). :D

Yes, Ralph was training for the innaugural SoCal BikeForums ascent of Olympus Mons. I hope to be able to take a few days off and join him for this climb.

+ 1.

My initial observation was that you look 10 years younger with the weight off.

Very, very, stinky... and probably pretty stoned as remember, which I don't, because I think I was pretty stoned. Insert dirty hippy, Charlie Manson, Jesus joke here__________________.

I'm so not the "baby-burping-loving" kind of woman, but that baby makes me want to have one (for a nanosecond and then I remember how self-absorbed I am and incapable of changing a diaper). She is so precious! Thanks for sharing, Sean. And I loved the stoned pic, by the way.

Either Mandy or Lorainna (Bill's wife) took them. That was a good ride.....but I was hurting badly. In fact, that was my very first BF ride...:)

I still think of it as the quintessential BF ride, I was recovering from a broken pelvic bone and was NOT in shape for it, at all! In fact, I only made it 80 miles of the total of well over a hundred miles to complete the ride, and was the first to climb into the wagon, but I made it to the top of Mt. Palomar (Olympus Mons) and even made it over to the observatory since it was only an extra 300 feet.   :D Plus I even managed to ride over Mesa Grande. I've never been on a tougher ride or a more memorable one.

That which doesn't kill you, well, almost did.

One of my all time favorites, and the best (well one of few) BF group rides that I've done.

Could you explain this??? Cool pic!

It's the MuddyBuddy 2006, the kids get to do the mud pit also.
It's a blast! I am doing it again this year. It's a 6.5 mile course half MTB
and the other half running with obstacles. Just an excuse to go out and play in mud.
