Honestly, I can't see the benefit over a standard flashlight with a pair of decent NiMH batteries...

You don't see the benefit of comparing your Angstrom Hindenburg to the Lupine Helios???

:D for the record they did controlled tests to try to "explode" the lights, they were not able to ignite the fuel source......

think about it.........no more buying batteries or chargers.........no wires..........and build it a bit bigger and brighter.........

Nice on the technology but in case of emergency you're screwdz0rz when you're out of juice. AA's for me please. I wonder if you use more hydrogen would the light get brighter? I'd rather get a good o'l AA flashlight with a variable power regulator on it to keep the brightness at a constant brightness in whatever power mode I choose and should I run out of power I stick another set of AA's in or solar power it should we get NOLA bad. Or you can build your own light and make your own adaptors to use AAA/AA/C/D/9V/6V/12V with a multi-voltage regulator ( http://www.taskled.com ) and you're good to go and can power that light source with anything on hand.

from what i heard from Angstrom and one of the riders, the light output is constant, and does'nt change brightness. It lasts far longer than a set of AA's , up to a month of daily riding on one of those lil canisters. easy enough the refule to, unscrew the old canister, scrw in a new one, turn light on, good to go.

I'm intrigued ebnough that i'm going to see if i cna demo one for a while.

Oh, there is no doubt that a hydrogen powered bike light is the coolest bit of tech out there.

Now, where's my hydrogen powered hub motor? ;)

I wonder if there is anyway to push some sort of hydrogen-fueled flaming alcoholic beverage so that I can get bike light refills at every liquor store in town?

I've got it, flaming slurpies at the 7-11!!
