Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey I would like to know what types of things I can "ATTEMPT" well Im not on the trails. I of course know the wheelie(which I still cant do) but what other sorts of stuff can I try. And if you post a trick can you include a description of how to do it. I havent been succesful finding any sites with mountain bike trick guides.

Look up bmx tricks. All mtb tricks are variations of those. Basic tricks that are required before really getting good are
1 - trackstand
2 - j-hop
3 - wheelie is important too
4 - basic hopping (for balance works with trackstanding)
With those three standards you can move to more complicated thing like
4 - front and rear wheel pivot
5 - hopping up and down things (regular bunny hop isn't very good for getting up stuff
Then after that would be harder stuff
6 - rear wheel hop
7 - using your sprocket to climb up stuff
There are many more but those come to mind. Most of these are described on BMX sites, a lot of threads here (do a search) and trials sites. (www.trials-online.com is the best imo)

Oh some other things to helpp trail riding. Riding up and down stairs is great practice to be in the downhill position...riding up them sucks but gets you used to a rough ride.

How in the hell do I do a j-hop?
I know I pull up and push forward ,but what do you do with your feet?
And,do you push forward with all of your body,or just your upper torso?

What do you mean you just keep going. A catwalk is something you want to keep going...thats a good thing (unless you are trying to bunnyhop it ::)
yes, I was trying to bunnyhop it, lol. :) is it better to go fast or slower?

I get better height faster but in the end it shouldn't matter.
ok, and you go further when your going faster eh?
