View Full Version : Please put spoiler in title of threads if telling who won (or lost).

For the next few weeks please put the word "spoiler" in threads that are talking about who won, lost, etc, etc. A lot of people (including myself) plan to watch the tour when they get home in the evenings after work. Knowing how it ends really takes the fun out of it.

Thanks.

This is 2007. Do you really expect the rest of the world to accommodate your personal Tivo schedule?

I get up at 4:30AM to watch stages live and I have zero sympathy for spoiler-nazis.

That's great, glad you are able to do that. Maybe I could learn how to travel into the future a few hours so I can watch it before I go to work since it doesn't come on until 8:30 am and I have to be in my office at 7:30 am.

Why don't we just rename the forum to "***SPOILER ALERT Tour de France"?

Wait, so you have an hour to get coffee, answer emails and take a dump before watching the live feed on-line? Sounds like a perfect scenario to me.

Or do you have one of those 'jobs' where you actually have to 'work'?

As for putting 'spoiler' in the title. Good luck on that. Maybe Wednesday's would have been better with:

"Fabian CANCELLARA is <SPOILER ALERT>"

If you were truly a cycling enthusiast you would quit your job and move to the appropriate time zone.

Of secondary concern are thread titles that reveal too much.

There seems to be a lot more titles of that nature this year than in past.

You might either put a second sticky up there or retitle this stickied thread to get that point across to something like:

Please put *SPOILER* in title if thread content reveals winner/loser; avoid titles that spoil today’s novelty.

Honestly clicking on a thread in a BIKEforum and not expecting to see the result is pretty damn silly.

I posted a week ago why we didnt have specific stickied threads for each stage so people could read in order the events of that stage. But apparently the only effort anyone wants to make with a sticky thread is to complain about seeing the result.

And putting spoiler in the thread title doesnt solve the problem if you dont check your thread after every post. Which sorry to say...some posters dont have the capacity to do.
