:p

It's official: Springfield, Vt., is the home of Homer Simpson's family, according to voters at USATODAY.com.

The town of 9,300 will host the official The Simpsons Movie premiere at its own Springfield Movie Theatre July 21 with the movie's filmmakers on hand to walk the yellow carpet.

There's a 7-11 in my neighborhood that was converted into a Kwik-E-Mart to promote the movie, and now there are actually people lined up to get into the place.

It's never revealed on the show. Long-running joke.

(Though Groening based a lot of characters and places on Springfield, Oregon, that's not necessarily where the show takes place)

Is anyone doing a promotional Duff Beer?

It can't be located at any one Springfield, there are just too many conflicting facts in the show that hint at its location.

And the movie will probably be horrible, and a pain to sit through. The writing for that showed shriveled up and died long ago.

Yep, but I'll still see it anyway.

They decided not to. Thought it might appeal too much to kids.

Considering the makers of the recent Die Hard movie wussed out and made a PG-13 movie out of it (), I'm kind of surprised Fox made an animated PG-13 movie.

No Duff Beer, as far as I understand, but they did have other stuff at the Kwik-E-Mart like Buzz Cola, Squishees, and Krusty-Os.
