Anyone out riding in the 1,2,3 field last night. I was in the 4/5 field and went out on a solo breakaway at the end of the first lap that I was able to hold for @ 24 miles. I got swallowed up with two laps left to go and was told at the finish that 3-4 riders from my field said I used the 1,2,3's to draft off of, and was DQ'ed. I know for a fact that I went to the far side of the track when I was being passed by the main group, and my accuser's were no where to be seen. Any of you 1,2,3's have any input on whether or not I did something unfairly, or was I even noticable to you.

Was your field neutralized when you attacked? The rules say to leave at have at least 300m between fields before you are no longer neutralized. Unfortunately, I don't think you can appeal a relegation.

I know Candi asked for some comments on neutralizing the fields at PIR on the OBRA list. Whether anything came out of that discussion is unknown. There were some riders in the slower fields timing their attacks with the neutrals earlier this year.

Tough break, anyway. Don't spend too much time dwelling on it.

I had been off the front for @ 8-9 laps when the 4/5 group got neutalized. Got passed by a breakaway group from the 1,2,3s, and went off to the side when the main 1,2,3 peleton came by. I will try not to dwell on it too much, just sucks to be accused of something you didn't do.

Fish - a few weeks ago a Portland Velo rider went off the front early and stayed away the whole race solo ans ended up winning. You probably know him if you look in the results.

There was a lot of talk in the peleton that whoever it was drafted off the 1/2/3's as he almost lapped the field (don't quote me on that as it's hearsay).

My take is you Portland Velo guys are juiced and the peleton is pissed off about the solo flyers winning races !:)

Good job on the flyer !

Sorry to hear about your relegation fishmel.

If the accusers were in the 3/4 field, how did they see you drafting the 1/2/3s? Maybe they had buddy's in the 1/2/3s that said that? Sounds like you got a bum rap. They should at least have hung around to talk with you and Candi together before you got DQ'd.

I wasn't there last night so I didn't see what happened.

Sorry to hear fishmel, but good job at trying to do something different at PIR.
I was there the same race that Masher is talking about and nobody wanted to chase, and he was strong for being out by himself the whole time.
Some people don't accept easily that somebody is just stronger than they are, I guess you just have to show them on Wednesday.......
I will be cheering for you from the playground......
Ciao

bummer fishmel. just make sure there's plenty of space between you and the field before you start back up.

as for that discussion, the only thing that came of it is that:
a. the field that is being overtaken, choose a side and stick with it.

i was pretty peeved about a month ago when someone went off right as we were neutralized on a Tuesday. That person took the hotspot. Oh well. Now I just ride the 1/2/3 race. Better moto-pacing.

That was my point exactly, the guys in the 4/5 field couldn't see what was going on. As I moved to the far side of the track and watched the 1,2,3s go by I wanted to jump their train to catch a break, but I didn't. Official said the protests only came from guys in the 4/5 field. Had some emails with the official who DQ'd me, point out how what was said about me made no sense with the evidence he had, and got no where.

Well thats enough of that, like Yonderboy said, no point dwelling on it too long. Its only amatuer racing after all. Although I hate having my integrity questioned, ain't got much else besides that.
