Road Bike Racing - First "hilly" crit for me.. Keihanna

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Running counter clockwise, points F to G is 300 meters at 6% through corner #3. This will be a new type of race for me. Only 9 laps for 21 km and some change. Half hour of pain in my future!

If the start is also the finish, I would have to say it's a very odd course. Sprinting down a hill to the finish just seems wrong.

And dangerous. A Crit I did a few months back at a short but very step hill that went into the final turn. To be honest I was more focused on not dying then I was about placing, and that's saying something.

Keihanna? Is that somewhere in Kansai? If it is, how do I sign up if it's not too late?

Yep.... it's.. um.
Here's the application form. I think past the deadline but you might still be able to get in if you work through the LBS or give them a call if you speak the language.

I'm registered for the C2 (Elite Non-JCF). Will be driving up on Sunday night.

Don't forget two other great events coming in your area (closer to you than me) in Okayama:
Nakayama 3 hr Enduro / Road Race (Aug 12th) - http://t-masaru-web.hp.infoseek.co.jp/
Okayama Aida Circuit 2, 3, 6 hr enduros (Oct 8th) - http://www.webtsc.com/event/Cycle/2006/body06c.html

Thanks! Yeah, it's past the deadline for the Keihanna race, but I should be able to make it to the one at Aida circuit. Are you going to Suzuka next month?

Nah, I'm kinda in my "off season" waiting for October/November. I'm racing Keihanna for fun (driving 4 hours for a 35 minute crit!), and racing Nakayama to get a look at it before I race it with some priority again in November. Suzuka is another hour+ drive for me coming from Hiro area. Looks like another fun MotoGP course though. I love racing those courses.
