Anyone in the Lafayette, IN, area (Tom Stormcrowe, I'm looking at you!) looking to help out a great cause, check out this article from the Journal & Courier (http://www.jconline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2007706280305) for the 300 miles in 25 hours challenge to raise money for CASAs for Kids.
Riders are welcome to join in on the first lap of the ride.
"How to help
Cyclists are invited to participate in the Cycling Challenge for the CASAs for Kids Fund on July 27. The kickoff begins at 5:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 610 Kalberer Road, West Lafayette.
Participants will begin the 300-mile ride at 6 p.m. Supporters can ride the first five-mile lap at 6, with a suggested minimum donation of $10 per person or $25 per family. Co-workers, families, youth groups and clubs are invited to ride together. Sign-ups will be on-site."
I'm planning on being there for the opening lap and then again on Saturday afternoon to help pace one of the riders going for 300 miles in 25 hours.

I will be there too, I am one of the 300 mile riders. Should be a great time.

Did ya make it? We had great weather and a nice flat course. Probably the two best rides were by Travis Dorsch and Bree Studenka. Their longest ride had been about 50 miles, but yet they managed to crank out 300. We managed to raise about $15,000. Hope they make this an anual event.

Yep, I was there for the first lap in the drizzle on Friday and then along with my brother helped pace Rick for 30 miles during the 2 pm Saturday shift.
My brother took middle-of-the-night shifts helping to keep the 300 milers going through the darkness.
I can't imagine doing that loop for 300 miles. After 3 times through I started getting confused on just how many times I had been around!
I'm going to see if my brother wants to team up for 300 if they do the event again next year. I don't live in Indiana, but was glad to help out the cause, for sure.

Rick and everyone, apologies about not getting by! I had a family situation come up and couldn't break away. Congrats on the good ride though!
