Northern California - Reedly Area Ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi all,
My wife, daughter and I are heading to family camp Aug 5th in Wonder Valley, which is just outside Reedly, about an hour from Fresno. I'm looking for a local ride during that week. I don't really want to drive all the way to Fresno itself however.
I've ridden the local valley and the entrance highways.....boy sure hate spinning away from dogs! (let's see, I've also had a few encounters on the road with loose horses, cows and boars)
Anyone?
Thanks,
Sheldon
Look here for the routes of the Blossom Bike Ride that's held in Reedley every winter/spring:

The 45-mile route has a couple of tiny rolling hills on it and is good for a quick jaunt.
The 100km route has more climbing. However, be warned if you try the 100km route: There's a particularly nasty local resident along the route on Elwood Road (right at the bottom of a 1,200-foot descent), with nasty dogs he likes to set loose on riders, and the local police have to camp out in front of his place every year when the organized ride goes through. I've made it through on my own without incident, but other riders in my group were attacked.
Wonder Valley is right along the 100km route, just past the nasty dogs. You could also take a short spin up to Pine Flat Dam and back, for a bit of intermediate climbing.

Thanks. That would be the resident with the boar farm? I've heard he is a big pain in the butt. I've climbed up that road towards the top considering a big loop to the main highway and around but as cell service in there is iffy, didn't want to do it alone in case of difficulties.
The ride to the dam has been on my mind. The Camp takes folks to the lake for activities so I've been on that road several times in the van. Thought it would make a nice ride. Others I've got in mind are to ride to Reedly and back.
Do you ride with a group that does any regular scheduled cruises during the week that I can join?
Thanks.
Sheldon
The Fresno Cycling Club runs twice-weekly 30-mile afternoon rides from Reedley to Doyal's Store, just a couple of miles away from the dam, on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

The rides don't quite fit my schedule, though, so I'm not part of them.

Thanks for the lead. The Thursday ride probably won't work but the Tuesday one might. I'll contact the club when we get a bit closer and check with them to see if it's okay to tag along.
