Hey there,
I've just installed an SRAM Rival grouppo on my Steelman, and everythign seems to be working perfectly, except the rear brake. It's all cabled up correctly, but when I squeeze the brake lever it stops the wheel, no problem, but doesn't release back to it's resting position. I've tried switching cables, checking the housing to make sure there are no funky kinks, and the brake seems to spring back no problems when it is off the bike. I also tried tinkering with the bolts on the brake itself, to try and loosen and tighten it a bit.
I'm using the SRAM cable housing, and have tried both the SRAM cable,a nd a generic I had laying around. I've lubed up the housing as well with a little Prolink...
I'm stuck... i'm usually fairly good at getting my bike up and running, but this is bugging me!!!
Any ideas?
Jeff

This really sounds like a cable binding issue. I know you swapped out the housings but did you check the braze-ons on the frame? Maybe something is catching there?

Hmm... i'll have to check the braze-ons. It was running brakes before I got the frame, so I'm not sure the problem lies there... it does seem to be snagging someplace...
Thanks, i'll look into it!

Chek the lever bolts. There should be 2. Un-screw a bit the one closer to the lever. I had that same problem with my bike.
