Rough bumps sometimes knock the chain off my LWB. The top seems to bounce if I am coasting and the chain bounces off the hub (7 speed Nexus). I bought a Kore chain tensioner, was wondering if I should install it pushing the top portion of my chain up, or down, or if it matters. I know this is not the typical use of this, but what the heck. Any suggestions?

As far as I know the rear deuraillers spring, on multi speed bikes, is playing the role of a tensioner.
This is the reason why while replacing I decided to stay with the SAME type of rear casette that came originally and the same original chain lenght, thus no problem with tnension.
Maybe your components are not very compatible and the chain needs to be trimmed?
