I just ordered a veloce 8 piece group from them for $525. They have a 10% discount going and free shipping to US. I tried several codes and couldnt get any further reduction but 525 is the best I could find on this anywhere. Now I just gotta "WORRY" until my order get here.

1) It's my understanding they are in the UK; so do I have to pay custom fees?
2) Do all order ship from the UK or overseas?

1) yes, they are in the UK. I've never been charged customs fees for receiving a package from them.

I actually did get charged 15.66 on a 522 dollar order. Showed up on my credit card statement as "international charge" ..I dont remember agreeing to it at checkout but its definitely on my statement and the charges are separate, ie.. "probikekit 521.99" "International charge 15.66" Not complaining because shipping alone anywhere in US woulda been at least that.
Maybe there is a certain dollar amount where they affix a "customs duty"

I would just like to add that PBK has great customer service. I received an order that was missing a bottle cage (someone had ripped open the side of the bag and removed it), and PBK sent me TWO to replace it and apologized, though it was clearly not their fault.

The "international charge" is probably a fee that goes to your bank, not to PBK or the government. PBK charges you in UK pounds, not US dollars, and different banks and credit card companies charge different currency conversion fees (between 1% and 5%). Sometimes these fees are hidden in the charge amount and sometimes it is listed separately on your statement.

I believe there are certain banks that don't do that international charge. I remember seeing a list a while back, can't remember all of them, but Capital One was one of 'em.

Yes, Capital One is one of the few bank credit cards that doesn't tack on a 2-3% surcharge on all currency exchanges. Credit cards used to offer very favorable rates on currency exchanges, but they've caught on and are now viewing this as a profit center. If you do a lot of overseas traveling or ordering, you definitely need to get a C1 card.
