I just signed up with the League of American Bicyclists, and since they are only three blocks from work, I decided to go in person, rather than e-mail, or snail mail. Obviously, if they are to be anything but hypocrites, they would have to have a bike friendly workplace, and they do live up to that billing. At the entrance to the office suite they have a bike rack hung prominently, vertically on the wall, which at the time I was there, held about 8 medium price range bikes. I assume that they have a small staff, but the storage seemed adequate. A less welcoming bike rack at the curb outside the building held another half dozen bikes, all of which were junkers or clunkers. This bike rack was probably not used by LAB staff, and may have been storing bikes for messengers using the nearby Burger King.
For anyone interested, they are at 1612 K street, and were very friendly in accepting my membership money. It might be worth your time to say hi to them if you are in the area.
