I'm making a comparison between California's Death Ride and the hardest stage on this year's Tour de France. Anyone out there care to make a comparison? Vertical feet climbed x total distance =???

which stage? What's the vertical feet total? Anyone have a course breakdown that could compare Death Ride's 15,000 vertical feet x 129 MILES with a single stage?

(I'm actually writing a story about a 67 year old rider who will pass his 100,000 mile soon since he picked up the sport at age 50. Quite a feat. I hope I'm that fit when I'm 67....)

Stage 15 is considered the toughest this year. Here (http://www.cyclingnews.com/road/2007//tour07/?id=stages/tour0715)'s a good look at the profile.
