I been hearing Drop the hammer on VS. I would crap my pants if they said my name ever. I don't know any procyclist named Ryan. Bob roll is funny today. I would never watch the tour on a computer. Roche or other people are hard to understand because they don't talk english well.

I think the term "drop the hammer" may have pre-dated you. I'm just guessing, though.

I don't doubt they read BF. I could have sworn that Paul said "Is it true, botto's been banned again".

I do believe a few carpenters back in 223 BC said

"Damn, dropped the hammer, again."

Roche or other people are hard to understand because they don't talk english well.

The irony

That helps explain the mindless chatter on VS. I does kinda reflect BF pretty well. Post after post of irrelevant dribble sprinkled with occasional keen insights and smile inducing entertainment.

My name is Ryan too. Never heard of any other pro cyclists with my name but Ryanf will be the first.

Well kid your fame has indeed spread to Ohio.
Found "Ryanf rocks" spray painted on the restrooms off I-80.
While driving, yelled out the window to a cyclist,"Drope the hamer".He responded with the typical one finger salute in approval.
Notice more cyclists riding around with a worn bung hole in their lycra shorts.
Red Slurpie sales are off the charts here.
If you submit a few decent cycling articles,I know the publisher at High Times Magazine.;)
Hope you heal soon Ryan, that pregent looking Jelly Belly fool is going to get his soul "pasted".

Whey protein has the highest BV of all proteins. Good stuff...especially hydrolyzed...but it is kind of bitter tasting. Take that bit of useless info to your next dinner party, you'll really be the hit of the party....:D

"Drop the Hammer" is a way old term. It's been used as CB lingo with truckers for years.

No no, RyanF's massive guads give him 400 watts to accelerate past 88 miles per hour. RyanF predates RyanF!

RyanF invented the hammer!

Just wondering Ryan.

Is your name Ryan Fagerlin?

I am sure I am mistaken, but... You referring to me? Roche?

If so I am flattered. I will endeavor to write more succinctly. I currently use a good deal of Opiates and, I am trying not to write until I am not twisted up… as I am amazed at what I said when I read them in a moment of clarity.

It is a true honor if in fact I am a subject in your post… to be noted by Rynaf! (Especially for my poor English.)

God’s Speed in Healing and watching the TDF. (WOW! you know my name!)

Blessings

^^^ Another time-tested variation is: "And then I shifted into the big ring . . . ." Maynard Herschon used to get some good mileage in his column out of busting guys for telling what he called "big ring stories."

And yes, "dropping the hammer" - or "drope-ing" if you prefer - has been in use since long before plastic and tin foil frames became the rage. :D

Bikingshearer, is Maynard still around? I haven't seen him in years.

Why would they mention someone who has never raced when talking about the TdF?

Yeah, I see his stuff every so often. Most recently in "California Cyclist," a give-away at bike shops that has a few articles but mainly serves as the clearinghouse for centuries, tri's, and the like.

He was also big into motorcycles, so he may be earning his keep writing for a moto mag. That's just a guess, though.
