I know in some of the articles it will tell what some riders are using. If you read someone's gear ration post it in this thread please.

Tom Boonen's prologe bike was running 54/44 up front. So far that's all I have read.

I read in Velo News that Danilo Diluca used a 34-29 on the mountain stage of Zoncolon in the Giro D'Italia.

The same article said that some riders were using triples too. I think compacts are very much the norm now for many pros in the mountains.....

Why would anybody use a prologue bike with a double chainring? I'd think they're all using single rings up front. You'd need to pedal at a hummingbird like cadence to maintain the 30+ mph pace they're cruising at in prologues.

You'd be wrong. They use doubles. Why would one even want a single?

One must get up to, and down from, top speed, and cruise at different speeds. A single front puts the full range of gearing back on the cassette, meaning that they can't run close ratio cassettes. A close ratio is most valuable in a TT.

The sole advantage of a single is weight, but these bikes are already at the lower limit.
