If you wear this helmet:

Just add a couple of red LEDs behind the lenses for emphasis.

Can I has it?
I wonder if it will feel very hot, since you're not getting as much airflow on your face.

The air filtration is a good idea. Today's NYT had another article about how bad fine particulates emitted by cars are for athletes.

The thing with that is, you'd just look silly wearing anything other than a Stormtrooper outfit.
Now I just want to see someone in that wearing cutoff jean shorts and an I'm with stupid shirt.

Why not just wear a Green Bay Packers helmet?
I would see some lunatic on my commute wearing one all the time.... and NOBODY messed with him.
sideways bike looks like you just float!
i would wear it. just so i could effectively cut out all of my peripheral vision.
tunnel vision ftw!

sideways bike look ridiculous...
the vents on that helmet are on the side, the black discs, i think they are round like a full face spraying mask.. my spray mak looks similar to the lower part, but with a giant lens that wraps around the front.

Can you smoke with that mask on? I would think it would severly inhibit my habit. Maybe they could make a little attachment to smoke through.

Why couldn't he, kefiyehs are like the most practical thing ever invented for keeping the dust out of your mouth, and in the winter the cold off of you.

they are practical for sand and dust but i doubt they are any protection against car fumes. they are good for the cold though

Boy, talk about opening a can of worms with that helmet. I can see a long list of accessories for the accessory.
Blue tooth
mp3
gps with heads up display
replaceable colored lenses (prescription, too)
am/fm radio
sattelite radio
windshield wipers
flavored replacement filter cartridges (maybe even ones that release nicotine for the smokers)
ventilator fans to keep fogging down
Headlight and tail light attachments.
Turn signals
everything controlled by a panel on the handlebar that the helmet plugs into.
The thing that would suck would be the new biker tan.

Well we've got Electronic Dura-Ace coming out, PowerTaps, heart rate, cadence and speed monitors, GPS computers, and I'm sure there are people using bluetooth headsets while riding. This is more of a road cyclist arena but the level of electronic gadgets on the bike is getting higher everyday. It wouldn't surprise me if heads-up displays in cycling glasses are the next piece.
Guess that's the whole appeal of riding a track bike isn't it? Strip everything down and just ride.
