Anyone in/around/near midland Michigan? I see a whole lot of riders around here, just seems to always be when I'm in my car that I see them. Hardley ever see anyone while I ride. There is a small group that I normally ride with, but we are always looking for new people to come along.
Depending on who's riding with us the pace can vary a lot anywhere from 18 to 25. We usually like to ride distance of 30 miles plus. If anyone is interested in riding with us, give me a shout.
My wife and I rode the Pere Marquette last year on our comfort bikes. Given her limits and the bikes we were on, we just rode a section and turned around at Coleman for about a 25-mile ride. But what I've been wanting to do ever since then is to take my road bike up there and go from the Tridge to Clare and back. That's about 60 miles, right? But that trail is like a biking superhighway, plenty of rest stops along the way, etc. Have you ever done that route?

I've done it plenty of times. It's kind of boring, but a good training spot. If you ever want to do the whole 60 miles let me know, I would love to meet you out there.

I rode that with my cousin when I was in Michigan in early May...

Well Justin there is a Pere Marquette Trail event next Sunday (August 5th). Great way to meet other cyclists.

Big event for speed skaters too. Many of them do the entire 60 miles....large group from Detroit.

Hey Justin, try the TriCity Cyclists (www.tricitycyclists.org) Lots of rides going off on various days of the week. Many start at or around the Tridge and veer off on the various farm roads.

I hope the TriCity Cyclists will be out in full force to support the trail event next Sunday. No excuse for missing this one!

What a great ride. A little wet at the end but nice and cool. Disappointing that so few folks came out to support the trail though. Where was everyone?
