Foo - I went to the batting cages today...

for the first time in about 10 years. I spent $20 on tokens, and took probably 300 swings. I've got soreness in places where I didn't even know I had muscles.

Next time, pony up $1.
Ouchie, sore muscles suck. :o You need to find someone to give you a good massage, then walk around lightly swingin' a baseball bat, preferably not in public. :p

I do that from time to time...its a kick in the pants...especially trying to hit the 70-80mph pitches...you gotta get on those to hit them
Did you take any steroids to make the experience just like playin in the bigs?

The last time I went to a batting cage I broke the machine. :(
I hit the ball right back into the machine and bent the arm.

I've done that a few times....doing batting cages after years. It gets ya sore, but it sure brings back the yesteryears of childhood, doesn't it?
I'm actually in similar boat today. I went on my first hike with friends from after work. I went up a mountain called Little Si, 2.5 miles (5 miles round trip) with 1200 feet elevation. I'm sore in every muscle in my body today. I was too tired and sore to ride the bike in to work today.
You know cyclists have no upper body. What did you think you were doing?
I'm in a softball league and we play every weekend. So no soreness here. :)
But I still can't hit those 80-90mph pitches at the cages! At least with a pitcher you can see his arm rotation before he strikes you out! The cages I go to used to flash a light before I'd swing and miss it. Now you wait for the ball to roll down the machine and pray that you can get the bat around to at least foul it off as it fires a pitch at you! ACK!

I was surprised to find I could hit the 70-mph baseballs. I was hitting everything -- softballs, baseballs, fast pitch, slow pitch. Good times. I will be back again.

Well if you move to the SF Bay Area give me a holler! We lost 5 people due to work, school, etc., last season.
