Southwest - Utah SLC Co-ops or second-hand stores?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. One of my friends lives outside SLC and is looking to spend a low-dollar amount on a bike. I suggested she look for Co-ops or a second-hand store, but google doesn't show much up. This (http://www.slcbikecollective.org/) is the best I came up with - too many words in the search box ended up with bad results. Anyone have suggestions on a good co-op or second-hand bike shop that my friend can go to? She's not terribly into bikes yet, but wants one, so preferrably one with good customer service. Obviously we all dislike *bad* service, but many shops are just okay - a good shop would be there asking her good questions and responding with good answers.
