Bicycle Mechanics - brakes question (road bike frame with mountain bike wheel)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
i have a road bike frame and i outfitted it with mountain bike wheels but the brakes don't reach, so what else can be done? any solutions to extend the reach of the brakes?
or are there any suggestions to what kind of brakes i can get to make this work?

that looks very nice but it seems like a lot of work (drilling, cutting, etc)
are there any brakes that can be brought that work right out of the box?

Yes. Paul's Motolite (http://www.paulcomp.com/) $125 for one set.
Mavic also makes an adapter, but you're limited to narrow 26" tires.
If it's knobbies you desire, just get some cyclocross types for the 770c road wheels.
