Were's Vino gonna get his 50 - 75 seconds back on the heavier hitters?
I think he's gonna get a lot back on the TT's but that puts him even with a few that can hose him on the climbs.
Will Kloden attack his teamate like 05 given the crack in his crack?

You know once he gets better, he is going to attack, attack, attack.. and then attack and then some.. Mountain stage, flat stage, sprint time bonuses you name it, he is going to be there.. I am seriously excited about the tour now..
How's Vino and Kloden riding today? Yesterday Vino looked to be grimacing in pain.
The live feeds are down so I can't watch at work... Doh!

I hate to be pessimistic, but this year was Vino's one good chance.
He's also nearly 'past his prime' at 33 y.o.
I hope we don't remember him as a 'tragic figure'... but the odds are we will.
At this point his hopes don't look that bright.

That was interesting. Who knows, though, another night of rest and care and he could be fine over the weekend.

I'm not sure what that was, because he ran his hand down vertically before bringing it back up and doing the slit throat motion. It was in the last few k of the stage, and it could have meant "whew, I'm glad that's finished" or something like that. No doubt it was a tough day, but that man is a brute. Remember how well Tyler did after breaking his collarbone.

He signed the cameraman to stop showing his bandages. Bad for the morale.

That guy's more fragile than a piece of old china. He always seems to be getting hurt.

Sastre and shleck will sho how strong CSC is tommorrow. I expect one of them to take it. the wild card is Michael Rogers and Rasmusen. they can show up and put in alot of hurt. Also Contrador could take of and make the peleton chase early and that would leave Levi with fresh legs for the final climb. He did well in Georgia, tommorrow is going to be GOOOOODD!!!! So many things can happen now!!

That's what I thought, but just asking the cameraman to stop.

I think Vino is done. I do not think he will respond well in these early mountains and be out of it before this race ever gets going.
Sad.

Yep, I think it will be a major surprise if he can hang in on that last climb. It's going to be a fierce pace on the Colombiere.
you mean morale?
Cmon-stop putting words into his mouth and just look for the heavy philosophic meaning he articulated.
how did he do today?? I saw the little clips of Versus but wanted to see how Vino did?
That young rider was underestimated and took the stage, nice attack.

Well at least he's no longer 81st on the GC. He jumped up quite a bit, still pretty low though. Klodi slipped down, I think he's now 6th?

That was actually directed at another rider. It was one of those "your ass is mine" motions.

Considering this is likely Vino's last stand as a professional bike racer in a major race, I hope he is able to overcome his injuries.
I guess he really will have to do a good job of attacking in the mountains, though none of us really know how he's feeling.
Perhaps the other GC contenders are going to try to isolate and eliminate him?
Alejandro Valverde finished with Alexander Vinokourov (Astana) in the finale of stage seven to Le Grand Bornand. The Spaniard of Caisse d'Epargne is vying for the overall classification and would like to rid himself of Vinokourov before Monday's rest day.
"We would like that," said the 27 year-old to Cyclingnews on Saturday. "After yesterday, where we watched him, we would like to leave him behind."
