Just wanted to do a quick intro and see if there are many BF'ers from the North Bay. My wife and I are returning to the North Bay after spending the past 6 years in the East Bay in Brentwood (done roasting ;)

I've got a small part-time bike company that I run on the side of my day job in San Jose, and am in the process of moving that operation also to the Petaluma area.

Would love to meet some new folks and learn some new North Bay roads. I used to motorcycle all these roads back in high school, and have do the Holstein Century once, and the Healdsburg Harvest century several times (again on the 21st http://healdsburg.org/chamber/bike_tour/bike_tour.asp)

There are quite a few North Bayers, and I see you found the Northern California regional forum. Where's your workplace in San Jose? Do you commute all the way?

Welcome to BF!

Thanks East Hill. Look forward to meeting some of these folks as we get settled.

Lot's of my bio info can be found on this page:
http://www.spincyclz.com/about_us.html

I work for a privately held Japanese owned firm www.alliedtelesis.com (almost 5yrs) and a mechanical engineer...most Pro-E sheet metal chassis design etc., and hoping to find something similar in the north bay in the near future. Did that start-ups prior to that, which at least helped us get into the crazy housing market awhile back.

Gave up on driving 125 miles per day (35k/yr) 2 years ago and started renting a place close to work. During the summer I was commuting from Cupertino to 1st and Montague about 10mi each way, and could drop 1.5lbs a week with that level of activity. I am now in Hayward, down to 2 nights/week (and working 3/10hr days) and a 20mi each way commute that I rode for the first time recently, and plan to do at least 1-2x per week.

Your link was most informative! Good luck with that, and with your commuting plans :) .
