Since I had a fairly cold blustery ride in, thought I'd cheer myself up by saying "Good morning from gods own country (Scotland)" and imagining those from sunnier climes having a more pleasant commute.

Good morning to you too, even though it's evening here as I type this. I rode the train today despite the beautiful weather. The shame! The shame!

Hi chewa, no what you mean about the cold I am just a 100 miles south of you , went out on the bike yesterday and i was frozen , hand and feet were numb and this is still supposed to be SUMMER. guys in U. s. a. are still riding around in 100 degrees , doesn`t it make you sick.

Good Morning all!
Well, yes it is sick. It's going to be about 92 degrees here today! Mostly sunny with some afternoon showers expected, humidity about 95%. I'm actually waiting for some cooler weather. I rode this past weekend and nearly passed out from the heat. It's kinda scary when you're sweating profusly and then you ask your buddy, "Hey, did you just feel that really cool breeze" and you realize, Nope you're just about to pass out!

Actually, here in sunny Kansas City, it was 70 F/21 C during my ride this morning. A little humid, but not too bad.
If it's about 16 C, that's about perfect. Any below 7 C, or above 24 C, and it's getting miserable.
At least we're not stuck in cars.

Sorry about the heat in your neck of the woods ,when one is shivering from the cold you tend to forget that high heat can be as equally galling .
I dont ever recal cycling in temperatures you describe , once took my bike over to our villa in Southern Spain quite late in the year , think it was about 90 degrees a couple of the days , not much humidity though , and hey! that was hot enough to cycle in .

If you want a cool breeze vfboomer , we've plenty here.
I have to say, it's now 3.40 and the sun has appeared. Seems warmer and the wind has dropped, so my ride home may be a bit more pleasant! (apart from a creaky left pedal, the solution to which has eluded me for weeks)
I'm planning to pack the fleece in my pannier and risk the Clangers T shirt. (USA bods won't know what I'm on about I suppose) :D

Hi John!
Thankfully, God has a tendency to wander about this orb we call home! For this mornings ride, 67 degrees (19.4 C), calm winds and the only clouds were off in the east to treat me to a spectacular sunrise!
But, just so I don't get too spoiled, tonight's ride home should be in 90 degree temps (32.7 C) with a little 25 mile per hour breeze!
Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?

Good morning ! Here in sunny Florida it's about 83 degrees at sun up . Love the warm air. I can't breath or walk or survive in the cold , much less enjoy a ride.;) If it gets below 72 I'm freezing. I know , I know. SPOILED !:dance:

I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that Allister rode the train. At the moment our weather could accurately be described as "one perfect day after another". I suppose someone could get bored with all these perfect days.

he rainman , do the distillery tour sooner rather than later. you will love it , especialy the islands . Jura. Islay , Mull, Sky. etc all got there own whisky`s .scenery aint half bad either. sorry sound like a travelogue!

have to say NQ is a nice place to live. Small village between Forth Road and Rail Bridges, and is so named because the monarch used to take the ferry across the Forth in the days pre bridges on the way North or South.
We have great views and are close enough to the capital to get in and back quickly. Two pubs, my fave being "The Albert".
Re Distillery tours, a great thing to do. I've visited a couple but as a Scot am afraid to admit that my favourite tipple is made in Kentucky.........Jack D
