Would appreciate you experienced bikers giving me a simple cleaning routine for my bike. I'll take it into the LBS for major work. Just want to keep it in good shape. Thanks. :)

It is a Giant Sadona Comfort Bike and I ride on pavemnt.

IMHO, the most important parts to inspect and clean are the drivetrain and the brakes.

Drivetrain:
Get a chain cleaning tool - this will allow you to clean the chain while on the bike. Use a nylon brush to clean the chainrings, and the cassette gears. When you are done, all should be shiny - not black.

Brakes:
Make sure the rims and pads are clean. I use an SOS pad to scrub the rims, and the brake pads.

Clean the rest of the bike with a bucket and water. Do not use a high pressure hose, as it will get water in some of the bearings. As you're cleaning, inspect the bike for obvious problems.

Good luck!!! :)
