Weight of Schwinn IZip from Canadian Tire [Archive]

I am normally better at web searching than this, but I can't seem to find weight specs on the Schwinn IZip sold by Canadian Tire.

schwinn.ca doesn't go past the main splash screen.

Anyone help out with more detail then the CTC website offers.

If you go to the Currie Technologies website you can see specs on a bike which appears to be virtually identical to the Izip. The link is:

It is under the Mongoose label and the product number is CB24V450. Even the battery color scheme is the same. The weight is listed at 90 lbs.

I've got a 2001 Currie E-Cruiser that weighs 56 lbs. Mine is high tensile steel, fendered, 5 speed, and no suspension vs. the front fork, 7 speed, and aluminum fendereless of the bike the OP was seeking details. But 90 lbs vs. 56 makes me wonder, where did they hide that much ballast to get to 90 lbs on an aluminum bike?

I don't think very much of that bike is made of aluminum. You will notice that they also make a similair model with an "AL" designation in the model number CBAL24V450 which they say is 80 lbs. It may contain more aluminum but is still a heavy bike.
I personally considered buying the large bike but opted for the aluminum folding bike (equivalent to the Currie IZIP EZGO). Even taking the size into account the folder is very much lighter. It probably weighs as much as it's battery.

I just weight mine bought @ canadian tire and it is 73lbs battery included !

I live in Vancouver and am thinking of buying the Canadian Tire Schwinn AL1020 electric folder to get to work, about 16 km 1-way with a fairly long, moderate grade hill at the end up to UBC. I could charge it at work. Do you think the bike would be up to this without mods?

Canadian tire claims 20km range with normal pedaling.

My guess is, actual range is a lot more than 20km if you save the motor for uphills only.
