Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Steal bikes in winter?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you don't, we could be some sort of duo. You steal the bikes, I'll hit the old people. Everyone will think we are awesome, cool, and very attractive.
from now on i only steal bikes that have been frame savered
please do a good job of winterizing your bikes folks
im tired of finding rust in the seat tube

I thought the op spelled steel wrong... We need a thread on how to steal bikes better, and beat up the elderly. I like to steal Halloween candy from children also, on my stolen bikes.

At first I thought the thread title was a mispelling - a poorly educated American or perhaps a foriegn graduate student worried about his bike rusting.
Now I know someone just took the wrong drugs tonight.

No. I don't steal bikes. Or candy from babies.
It's quite amusing how few people posting here have seen the thread just a couple notches down from this one.
Either that or they don't get satire.

obviously everyone in this thread needs their sarcasm meter recalibrated.

I think people get the joke. If anyone was humor-impaired earlier, the link provides some hope.

As a fattie, I take personal offense to your remark sir.
You're just bummed out because I gave you the hep.
ali g comes to mind when he interviewed a DEA agent (i think) and he asked "what is the chemical in ecstasy that makes you dance like a pr1ck?"

Well if you mean that thievery increases or decreases during the winter then I would have to say it depends on the local demographic.
I would say its lower in the suburban areas since most bikes are stored inside during the winter season as opposed to an urban setting, which most do not have the capacity of storing such bikes inside (especially ex apartment folks such as myself). Vulnerable to the outside world and especially during snowfall, a bike can seriously be taken under the cover of Old Man Winter when the average amount of people outside are lower.
I know everyone here love their bikes and most probably sleep next to them every night, but who here locks up their bikes outside all year round? I'd like to know.
